The original idea was to make a digital photo frame software for the iPad 2. But the iPad 2 is so unsupported that even if you could write the code for it, Apple would not let you put it on the Apple App Store.
So we decided to make a web app, but even that was a challenge as the iPad 2 has a limited operating system, cpu and browser.
The current version is designed to work on the iPad 2, but it also has a modern version which runs on the very latest browsers if it detects them.
You can use this app like a commercial Digital Photo Frame, for your family photos on an iPad 2 (or better) or for marketing purposes on a 70” Smart TV with any kind of browser.
The photos you add are stored on your own computer/tablet which means you don’t need an internet connection, or a login, or have your photos shipped off to the cloud.
It can runs inside the browser, but works even better as a standalone Progressive Web App making it run with minimal borders.
To install as an app on the iPad you do the Share Menu and select “Add to Home”. Then you can run the app at any time from the Home Screen.
On the MacOS computer you can access the Share Menu and select “Add to Dock”. This will put an Icon to the software in your system Dock.
On the iPad 2 and similar older browsers, the two dontate buttons on this page will not work. To donate, you can either scan the QR codes with your modern phone, or visit this web site on your modern desktop browser.
